Samsung Innovation Campus Equips Youth with Essential Skills in AI, IoT, Big Data, and Coding & Programming
In an era marked by rapidly evolving technology, equipping the youth with the necessary skills to thrive is more crucial than ever. Samsung, India’s leading consumer electronics brand, is stepping up to the challenge with its flagship initiative, the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC). This program is designed to empower young minds by providing them with essential skills in modern technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, and Coding & Programming. With ambitious plans to extend its reach across the country, the SIC aims to upskill an impressive 20,000 students nationwide by 2025 — a six-fold increase compared to previous years.
This year, the initiative is putting a spotlight on Uttar Pradesh (UP), where 5,000 students will receive comprehensive training in these future technologies. This focus reflects not only the program’s commitment to educational enrichment but also its strategic intent to make UP a leader in digital empowerment and workforce readiness.
The recent graduation ceremony held at the Yogi Baba Gambhirnath Prekshagrih Auditorium in Gorakhpur marked a milestone in this initiative. With 1,600 young individuals being celebrated for their achievements, the ceremony was graced by the Honourable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath. He presented certificates to distinguished students and commended Samsung’s contribution to enhancing digital inclusion and future-ready education across the region.
The SIC aligns seamlessly with India’s broader Skill India and Digital India missions. It aims not just to teach skills, but to cultivate confidence, creativity, and problem-solving abilities—attributes that are vital for building meaningful careers. JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, stated, “At Samsung, we believe the future of India will be defined by its youth. Whether it is AI, IoT, or Big Data, these are not just skills of the future; they are the language of opportunity today.”
Samsung’s commitment to inclusivity is visible in its national statistics, where women represent 44% of program participants. This reflects a dedicated effort to ensure that young women are equally empowered in technology sectors, thus promoting gender equality and holistic development in the tech landscape. In Uttar Pradesh, the 5,000 students being trained this year account for nearly 25% of the national target, positioning the state as a leader in producing job-ready talent.
Joining forces with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) under the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Samsung has streamlined its training efforts through accredited partners, ensuring students receive quality education and support. Launched in India in 2022, the SIC has already trained 6,500 students and aims to reach a total of 26,500 by 2025. This initiative places strong emphasis on reaching underserved and semi-urban communities where access to such technology education is often limited.
Beyond technical training, the program also focuses on soft skills development and provides placement support to enhance employability. This holistic approach not only prepares students for immediate job opportunities but also equips them with skills that are increasingly crucial in today’s competitive job market. Moreover, the program is complemented by the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow initiative, which reinforces Samsung’s commitment to democratizing technology and nurturing talent pipelines across India.
As the digital landscape continues to evolve, initiatives like Samsung Innovation Campus are pivotal. They are not just creating opportunities but also shaping a future where technology serves as a bridge to empowerment, self-reliance, and dignity for the nation’s youth. With global partnerships and focused training, Samsung is poised to be a key player in nurturing the innovators and leaders of tomorrow.
