In a significant move to enhance technical education in Jharkhand, the state’s Department of Higher and Technical Education has proposed the establishment of Centres of Excellence (CoE) in various emerging fields. Locations and Objectives
The Centres of Excellence will be strategically located at two prominent institutions: the Birsa Institute of Technology (BIT) Sindri and the Government Engineering College (GEC) in Palamu. Principal Secretary Rahul Purwar outlined that these centres are designed to increase employability and improve placement outcomes through the cultivation of niche technologies and future skills. By aligning educational outcomes with industry needs, these CoEs intend to ensure that graduates are well-prepared for the challenges of modern employment landscapes.
CoEs at BIT Sindri
BIT Sindri will host four specialized Centres of Excellence, each dedicated to specific domains characterized by rapid technological advancement:
