Celebrate Creativity: The 2025 Black Makers & Creatives Event in Seattle

2025 Black Makers & Creatives Event
As Black History Month draws to a close, Seattle is gearing up to spotlight its vibrant Black community during the highly anticipated 2025 Black Makers & Creatives Event. Set for Sunday, March 1, this fourth annual celebration will take place at the luxurious Hyatt Regency Lake Washington, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
A Celebration of Talent and Creativity
This event serves as a powerful platform for Black artists, entrepreneurs, and creatives from across the region to showcase their talents. The theme for 2026—“I Choose You”—celebrates the profound connection between Black love, music, and lyricism. Attendees can immerse themselves in a rich environment filled with music-inspired artwork that reflects themes of love, longing, heartbreak, and healing.
Musical Performances and Cultural Displays
The program is set to feature fantastic performances, including those from Anokye Agofomma, a Ghanaian cultural dance group. The event will also host a fashion show spotlighting Black fashion designers, offering a glimpse into the creativity and diversity of Black fashion in Seattle.
Notable creatives such as Monae Brown of Moes Art Gallery and Chloe Morris from Couture Creations by Chloe will have their work displayed, contributing to the event’s focus on artistic expression.
Culinary Delights from Black-Owned Eateries
Attending the Black Makers & Creatives Event isn’t just about appreciating art and music; it’s also an opportunity for guests to indulge in delicious food and drinks. Wine from Woodinville’s On Blended Knee winery will be available, alongside mouthwatering bites from renowned Black-owned eateries such as Soul Fusion Food and Sansinos Catering. This melding of flavors adds a unique culinary dimension to the already rich experience.
Supporting Vital Community Initiatives
A vital aspect of this event is its commitment to give back to the community. Proceeds will benefit the Family First Community Center, founded by former Seattle Seahawks player Doug Baldwin Jr. This Renton-based nonprofit provides essential services such as financial literacy workshops for parents, Mathletics classes for youth, and storytelling programs for seniors, all aimed at fostering a supportive community.
How to Attend
For those interested in participating in this wonderful celebration of Black creativity and community, tickets are available for just $10. Each ticket purchased supports not only the artists and businesses involved but also contributes to a meaningful cause in the community.
